The 2008 National Western Stock Show was the best yet. The level of show and the quality of yaks shown has improved dramatically. It was certainly the best grouping of yaks we have seen. The judges commented on how difficult it was to decide winners, adding that third place finishers would have won blue a few years ago. The public turnout was overwhelming at times, with pens overflowing with people, especially school kids. The news cameras came to the yak pens for the morning shows on Thursday. The news anouncer hammed it up and even rode Yampo down the alleyway.
