Spring Brook Ranch view

Spring Brook Ranch is near Kalispell in northwest Montana. We are in sight of Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and 35 miles from Glacier National Park. We are just across the Swan Mountains from the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. This is one of the wildest areas in the lower 48 states.

Spring Brook Ranch comprises 1,000 acres of native grass and timber. The ranch is protected by a conservation easement from Montana Land Reliance and the forest is sustainably managed according to a plan certified by both the American Forest Foundation and the State of Montana.

We are on the outskirts of Kalispell and surrounded by subdivisions. However, to the south are the Salish Mountains and some pretty wild country. We are a sanctuary for wildlife in an increasingly urban area and work closely with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks on wildlife management. To prevent overpopulation of whitetails we are part of a youth hunter program for beginning hunters looking for their first deer and provide venison to local food banks. We provide homes for mountain lions, black bears, elk and a wide variety of other animals including the occasional wolf.

We raise Tibetan Yak and Plains Bison. We also have horses, donkeys, a mule, goats, chickens and or course dogs and cats. The yak are raised primarily as high end breeding stock for other yak breeders. We also produce yak meat, pack animals and pasture pets. The bison are raised solely for meat. Most of our meat goes to a local market through private sales, health food stores and restaurants.
