Fall is rapidly approaching here in NW Montana. The cows have finished calving and are out with the bulls. This year we partnered with Turkey Hill Ranch and borrowed Dreadlock son, Chewbacca. Chewy is an extremely fine trim that we are using on our Royal cows. We have been working on our Royal herd for years and this is another phase in upgrading the base breeding stock available.

We have some fine 2009 calves on the ground including five bottle calves; two heifers and three steers. One of the steers, PJ, is special. He is a royal that was raised in the yard with a german shepard and thinks he is a dog. He comes running to get petted and loves to go on walks, on a leash, with the dog.

Soon we will be filming an episode of Endless Feast. Spring Brook Ranch was chosen to be the bison meat supplier. I will post more details after the shoot.
